Musician / Producer
Originally from Cornwall, shaped by a formative stint in Manchester as founding member and front man of indie-dub band Sandmen (1989-1995) Appearing on Anthony Wilson's The Other Side Of Midnight (Granada TV, the only unsigned Manchester band to do so), and playing with The Fall as one of Mark E Smith's favourite Manchester bands on several UK tours. I played at various venues including The Hacienda, Free Trade Hall, The Marquee, Clapham Grand, Brixton Fridge and went on to record a John Peel session in 1994.

Between 1997 - 2007 after relocating to London and transitioning into audio production, forming Akrasi with singer Joyce Akrasi. We organised and performed at our own club night called JuJu at The Africa Centre in Covent Garden. We signed to German IDM label Sellwell.de in 2000, releasing The Zero-1 EP (2001) and album We Are In The Future (2005), playing live alongside the likes of Jerry Dammers, Smith & Mighty, LTJ Bukem & Conrad, later immersing ourselves in the emerging Bristol Dubstep scene by the mid 2000's, whilst presenting our Zero-k Show (exploring Art & Identity) on Resonance 104.4 FM.

In 2008 I retrained and qualified with a City & Guilds in Youth Work, running music recording workshops in the local community for Wandsworth Borough Council at their Training & Resource Centre. From 2009 to 2016, I co-founded Official Burnt Toast with rapper / drummer Adrian Lawrence and guitarist / bassist Abrar Hafiz. Performing live and independently releasing our debut vinyl album 'Tubs 'n' Tongue-Fu' (2015) on the fledgling Sonskrif label. The album received favourable exposure, including Tom Robinson's BBC 6 Music show with press describing us as "Delivering a lethal stream of conscious poetry over homegrown beats and boasting two live bass players, OBT effortlessly meld elements of Lo-fi Hip Hop, Post Punk and Jazz". From 2011 to 2013 I was fortunate to receive personal mentoring from pioneering Drum & Bass producer Krust (Full Cycle Records) and assisted him with his Disruptive Patterns coaching workshops which has evolved since into his new coaching business Adapt The Canvas.

In more recent years I was guitar tech for Charles Bullen when This Heat reformed touring in 2017-2019 as This Is Not This Heat. In 2020 Sonskrif released Fire On Cold Nights with Charles Bullen & MC Quest, our contribution to Our Kitchen, a benefit album raising funds for Kent food poverty charity of the same name. In 2021 producing & engineering Radio On, an 8 part Situationist radio drama series for radio arts stations Tesla (Barcelona) & Resonance FM (London). In 2022 I produced & co-wrote 81 Miles Via Hulme the debut vinyl album release by UK Jazz Trumpeter Kevin G Davy (Cymande, KDQ & Presenter of the D'Ensemble show) on Jazz Radio London. The album received airplay on BBC Radio 3.

From 2018 - 2023 Working with and under the guidance of legendary Post Punk singer - Mark Stewart on various projects, The Pop Group's Y in Dub album (Mute, 2019) The Lost Tapes (a re-imagining of Mark and the Maffia's) Learning To Cope With Cowardice album (On-U-Sound 2018) Obsolete Capitalism by Mark Stewart & Sonskrif on the Italian imprint Rizofera (2020) and most recently recording & mixing Vodou, Mark's audio-visual contribution to The Jeffrey Lee Pierce Sessions album (Glitterhouse Records, 2023).
